Windows 7 need at least 20% of the partition just to operate (turn on) at minimal speed so considering that you have only allocated 50gb then I'd say that you haven't allowed enough space for the OS to run smoothly or efficiently. Hard space is used by the OS, more so than actual ram. You are better to use at least 250gb for the OS.
