Does a guy really like me and there could possibly be more or is he just playing a game?

So the story is I met a guy about 2 weeks ago just officially started hanging out and well the first time we hung out he grabbed my hand walked with me kissed me unexpectedly. He said he hasn't had butterflies in his stomache for a long time and how beautiful I was. Well I thought everything was great saw him again the next week and the last day he gets a call from the jail and he is talking with a girl and just pretty much breaks it down to where it was his girl that he cares about but since she was in jail he didn't know what was going on!? And he hadn't heard from her and all these things but he kept saying it doesn't change how I feel about you and I really do like you and he still was trying to hug and kiss me! Like what does this mean? From a guys point!? Because well I'm a female and I know he probably just playing a game trying to be a player but at the same time I know I could probably steal him away from her because obviously he must not truly care bout her to be doing what he doing?! Would it be worth it or what?
